Županja is a small town in eastern Croatia (Europe) with only a few thousand inhabitants. Punk in Županja appeared even before '93, but that was when we got the first recorded release of the punk band Anarchophobia.
The scene died and revived itself many times during the last 30 years with various initiatives, projects and bands. During that period we hosted hundreds of international bands in various clubs and venues from almost all continents on the planet. Supporting acts on those shows were often local bands with a clear anti-fascist stand, messages of solidarity and the fight for a world without borders and masters. We are very happy to present 16 such bands on this ŽUxHC compilation vinyl, covering the period from 1993 to 2023.
Punk, hardcore and metal genres are often blended together but always with the same recognizable dark note of the grayness of our small city, which we are fighting against with this release as well. For more information about the scene, bands and everything from our muddy area, write to us directly.
